The Goodhue Co. SWCD administers grants from the State of Minnesota thru the MN Board of Water & Soil Resources.  These grants often require information to be posted on our web site.

FY2015 Nutrient Management Accelerated Implementation Grant C15-0447 $205,280.  Approved April 7 2015 thru December 31 2018 on a 50%/40%/10% basis to continue funding of positions in Fillmore & Rice SWCD (0.5 FTE each). Sub agreements approved with Fillmore ($121,320 total: $120,000 technical + $1320 admin.) and Rice ($81,320 total: $80,000 technical + $1320 admin.) plus JPB ($2640 admin). 25% Match required ($30,330 Fillmore, $20,330 Rice, $660 JPB). Contract started April 7 2015 and runs thru 12/31/2018. Reports due annually on February 1. As of 12/31/2015: Fillmore SWCD spent $9,889.78 during this period, and brought in $5,115 in local match fees.  Rice SWCD spent $20,181.54.   Report

 

LCCMR Cover Crop Project $100,000.  SE MN Cover Crop & Soil Health Initiative $100,00.Provide technical training, education, outreach and demonstration sites on use of cover crops in SE MN. Paid on a 90% / 10% basis; $0 Administrative funds. Runs July 1 2015 thru June 30 2018. Reports due semi-annually on the following dates: 11/15/2015 (done), 5/15/2016, 11/15/2016, 5/15/2017, 11/15/2017, 7/15/2018. Cost share for 700 acres, plus 6 winter workshops and 9 field days.

 

SE MN Soil Health Providing Accelerated Technical Assistance C14-6698 $250,000.00.  This grant is coordinated thru the Fillmore SWCD via a sub-agreement and cover all 11 Counties within SE MN.  Dean Thomas is employed by the Fillmore SWCD to implement this program.  Accomplishments thru 12/31/2014 are in this linked Report.  Accomplishments from 1/1/2015 - 12/31/2015 are in this linked Reports: Narrative, Expenses, Match.  First 50% of Grant have been spent as of 9/30/2016, with accomplishments reports Narrative, Expenses. 2016 NPEA JPB Grant P16-2484 $130,000.  Provides Technical  & Administrative funding for the 11 SWCD's in SE MN.  Primary expense is for 3 Engineering staff. No funds have been spent as of 12/31/2015.

 

2015 NPEA JPB Grant (Area 7 - SE SWCD Tech Support JPB P15-1498 $130,000.  Provides Technical & Administrative funding for the 11 SWCD's in SE MN.  Primary expense is for Engineering staff.  No funds spent as of 12/31/2014. From 1/1/15 - 12/31/2015 spent $116,345.48, leaving  $13,654.52 to spend.  All spent on base JPB Engineering program.

 

2014 - NPEA JPB Grant (Area 7 - Southeast SWCD Technical Support) P14-6988 $150,000.00.  Grant arrived in January 2014.  $0.00 spent as of 12/31/2013.  As of 12/31/2014, all funds have been spent and reported.  Funds used to fully employ 2 Professional Engineers and 1 Technician locted in 3 separate locations within SE MN plus purchase a Total Survey Station.

 

2013 NPEA Base Grant - Southeast SWCD Technical Support JPB - 7 (NPEA) C13-4604 $130,000.00.  Provides Technical & Administrative funding for the 11 SWCD's in SE MN.  Primary expense is for Engineering staff. All funds spent as of 12/31/2013.  Report.

 

2013 - Accelerated Implementation Grant - Southeast SWCD Technical Support JPB - 7 (NPEA) C13-3790 $946,167.00.  This grant has 2 parts:  $613,047  for fully funding the 3 engineering staff of the JPB; and $333,120 for feedlot technicians in Dodge & Wabasha SWCD's.  This grant covers all 11 SWCD's in SE MN.   $302,018.58 spent by 12/31/2013.  Report.  As of 12/31/2014, the 1st 50% of both parts of this grant have been spent (Report 12/31/2014). As of 12/31/2015, all of the $613,047 has been spent, reports are part of the $130,000 NPEA reports above.  The Feedlot Tech portion of this grant was granted a 6 month extension due to a vacancy.  Dodge SWCD spent all but $9942.74 of their portion: Dodge Report.  Wabasha SWCD spent all except $20,494.32 of their portion.  Wabasha Report. 2012 Non Point Engineering Assistance Program Grant - Southeast SWCD Technical Support JPB - 7 (NPEA C13-1921 $130,000.00.  Provides Technical & Administrative funding for the 11 SWCD's in SE MN. Primary expense is for Engineering staff. All funds spent as of 12/31/2013.  . Report.

 

2012 - Accelerated Implemention Grants - SE Tech Support (JPB) C13-1099 $309,800.00.  Provides Nutrient Management Planning assistance to all 11 SWCD's in SE MN thru positons located at the Fillmore & Rice SWCDs.  As of 12/31/2013 $186,769.32 was spent.  Report.  As of 12/31/2014, most but not all funds were spent.  An extension was requested & granted due to not receiving continuation funding in FY14, with successful continuation funding for two 0.5 FTE positions in FY15 plus incorporation of a Nitrogen management grant via MN Dept. of Ag (Report thru 12/31/2014 Fillmore  Rice ).  As of 12/31/2015, all funds have been spent.  Combined Expense Report, Fillmore Narrative, Rice Narrative.
