Goodhue County SWCD Programs
Below are a few programs that the Goodhue County SWCD Administers locally. These programs assist landowners within Goodhue County to protect our water resources and promote sustainable agriculture.
The Goodhue Co. SWCD has a tree seedling program where you can order bundles of 25 bare-root trees and shrubs for in for conservation purposes. Orders can be placed starting about November 1, and trees can be picked up in the spring (Normally Mid April).
The Goodhue SWCD has programs available to assist landowners with implementing Best Management Practices on their land. If erosion and sedimentation problems are present, BMPs like grassed waterways, water and sediment control basins, terraces, streambank protection, feedlot fixes and grade stablization structures are typical cost-shared projects. See Cost-Share Page for further info
The Goodhue SWCD administers the Feedlot Program for Goodhue County. There are over 1,100 registered feedlots in Goodhue County. Each feedlot is required to register with the Goodhue SWCD every 4 years. When building new and/or expanding your feedlot system, permits may be needed from the Goodhue county Feedlot Officer.
